Big changes and big opportunities for the worship team are on the way!
I have been leading the worship team at Eastside for 4 years now, and it’s been an incredible time. Some of the best times, some of the hardest lessons, and some of the best friends and band mates I have ever had. However, I have come to a place in life where I recognize that my role needs to change. There are so many good things in store for Eastside and the worship ministry in particular and I’m excited to watch them happen, but I will be watching from a different perspective. We, as a church, are in the midst of learning and discovering our PLACE, however, I personally have been going through it for several months. With my family’s support, I have decided to step down as the worship team leader at Eastside. Because of this, the worship team will be going through some major transitions over the next few weeks and months, but our focus is and always will be bringing Glory to God and lifting up the person and marvelous deeds of Jesus. That’s all we ever want to do. I will be moving out of my position in the coming months as God puts in place the person or people He wants to be there. My role will stay the same however until that person is found, and I will do my best to make sure the transition is good and as smooth as possible. To be clear, this is not a decision I have made because of any situation or bad feelings, or anything negative at all, just recognizing that my role is changing, and as I’ve said before I’m completely okay with that.
In the short term, however, we have some other positions that also need to be filled as soon as possible. Two very important positions that need to be filled are the drummer and bass guitar player. So, if you play either of those or know of someone who does that may be interested, by all means please put us in touch.
On a personal note, my family and I are not leaving Eastside. It’s still our church home and we intend to remain there. We will continue to serve and participate in the life of the church, just for me it will be in a different role.
I’m so thankful for the opportunity I have had to share worship with you, and I am really looking forward to what God can do with the right people in the right PLACE at the right time. Thank you for all the kind words and support over the last few years; I am blessed to have had the privilege of working with a great staff for a great group of people and serving a GREAT GOD together.
In closing, I hope that each of us can find the right balance for our life, taking into account the gifts and personality that God has given us, so that in Christ we can realize our true potential to serve him.
