Dear Church Family and Friends,

Eastside’s Leadership Team (elders, staff, and business administration) had a financial analysis conducted by Church Solutions Group last month.  From this analysis we learned a lot about what God is doing in and through our local church and our members.  Here are some of the surprises:

Big Take Away:  Something “clicked” with the members in late 2010 and in 2011. Giving has been on the increase since then which is an indication that there is enormous buy-in.

Here is the data for the last three years for Total General Fund Giving:

  • 2010 –  $386,210.00
  • 2011 – $481,146.00
  • 2012 –  $575,000.00

Roughly a $100,000.00 increase per year in giving.

What “clicked”? Disciples Making Disciples – our vision? Online giving? Stronger emphasis on small groups? Worship? International mission trips?  What are your thoughts?

Big Surprise: If a family gives over $200.00 per year to a church then they are bought into the ministry of that church? Here are the numbers …

  • 2010 Total Giving Families > $200 – 130
  • 2011 Total Giving Families > $200 – 137
  • 2012 Total Giving Families > $200 – 154

Big Learning: There are 4 categories of givers in a local church. Which category are you in?

  • High Capacity Givers > $10,000
  • Intermediate Givers – $5,000 – $10,000
  • Core Givers – $1,000 – $5,000
  • Emerging Givers  < $1,000

Eastside is very grateful for each and every family that gives and supports her own going ministries.

Here is how the numbers break down per year per category:

High Capacity

  • 2010 – 8 Families
  • 2011 – 12 Families
  • 2012 – 14 Families

Intermediate Givers

  • 2010 – 15 Families
  • 2011 – 12 Families
  • 2012 – 14 Families

Core Givers

  • 2010 – 42 Families
  • 2011 – 58 Families
  • 2012 – 67 Families

Emerging Givers

  • 2010 – 65 Families
  • 2011 – 55 Families
  • 2012 – 58 Families

What are your thoughts? My thought is that we have more and more families at Eastside growing in their faith and in their walk with God. As your shepherd, this brings great joy to my life and heart. One simply does not give financially to the church unless they are falling more and more in love with God. Way to go, Eastsiders! You rock!

You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving,

Pastor VG
