Dear E-News Family,

Here are a couple thoughts and reflections:

1. WOW! What a great start to our “Text” Message Sermon Series. A lot of positive feedback from yesterday’s message and worship time. Just in case you missed yesterday, here are a couple things you need to know.

  • We will handout a “Weekly Memory Verse” each week that goes along with the message. We are encouraging every person to hide the Word of God in their heart. This week’s memory verse is Psalm 119:105 (NIV) “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

  • Greg Gillum, Eastside’s Small Group Pastor, has developed small group curriculum for each message in this sermon series. Click here to download the study materials for this sermon series.

2. Thanks to everyone who donated to the Christmas Drive for Prince of Peace Girls Home.   We have collected $2,160.00 so far. These funds will be added with other funds from Richmond to purchase Christmas Gifts for 55 girls. Praise the Lord. Amy Collins along with a few other people from Kentucky will be flying to Guatemala the first of December to purchase gifts for the girls.

3. Don’t forget about our FAITH PROMISE GIVING EFFORTS! Our celebration will be on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 10:50 am.  At the moment we have received a little over $55,000.00. Our goal is $100,000.00.  Respond as the Holy Spirit prompts you to give. Thanks to all those who have already given. Thank you for your generosity.

4. New Sermon Series will begin on Sunday, November 28, 2010 called “HE CAME!” We will  be looking at 6 different messages that relates to why Jesus came to earth…thus why we celebrate Christmas.

Sermon Messages:

November 28 – To Free The Captives
December 5  – To Destroy The Devil
December 12 –  To Serve The Helpless
December 19 – To Bring Us Life
December 22 and 24 – To Save The Lost
December 26 –  To Give God Glory
