Prayers Needed

February 14, 2012

Dear E-News Friends,

I need your prayers. God is stirring in my heart many different thoughts, dreams, concerns, and visions for the future of Eastside. I am going to share a couple of these visions with you now. I am going to ask you to join with me in praying for these specific items. In the days ahead we will spend more time discussing these items in sermons, strategic meetings, etc. Prayers are needed at the moment…

1. February 23-25, 2012 – Eight of Eastside’s leaders (Myself, Rose Grant, Chris Clark, Greg Gillum, Carla Perry, Mike Eckler, Billy Edwards, and Vivian Wallace) will spend 3 days with leaders from Real Life Ministries from Post Falls, Idaho. Our purpose is to get more intentional about Making Disciples. Please be in prayer for the safety of the team coming from Real Life Ministries, pray for us who will be in the workshop, and pray for God’s Spirit to have His way with us.

2. Second Worship Service – I have already mentioned this one but starting next month we will get way more intentional and purposeful relating to this issue. Our parking lot is full on Sunday mornings. Our children and preschool areas are over 80% full. The average weekly attendance for 2012 has been a little over 350. We have a long way to go on this issue but at the present there is a lot of positive traction.

3. Save the date, Friday, March 23, 2012. I am calling on everyone to make plans to attend this evening as we pray for REVIVAL, our upcoming Easter Celebration Weekend on April 6-8th, spiritual awakening in our community, our church’s goals, missionaries and missions opportunities around the world. We don’t have the times or the evening plan out as of yet but please go ahead and save the date. You will not want to miss this evening. Let’s take America back for God!

4. Debt Reduction and New Sanctuary – God is stirring in the hearts of several people in our congregation to move forward in developing a plan, a strategy to eliminate our current debt which is a little over million dollars and to start the process of drawing up plans for our new sanctuary. This is a discussion that has been going on for several months now. This is a great discussion for us to have as we seek to make more disciples. Eastside does have a master plan. Click here  to view the master plans which were developed in 2000. The master plan document also shows the foot prints for buildings one and two which we have already built. The next building project would be building 4.

What are your thoughts? What is your feedback? What would you add to this list? I would love to hear from you.  Feel free to email me or text me your thoughts, feedback, concerns, or suggestions.
